Our Founder - Anthony Autar, Esq.

Anthony Autar is a US-educated attorney-at-law, licensed in all courts of the State of New York, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

He is the Managing Attorney of Autar Consultancy Firm, and represents clients in a range of immigration matters before the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Department of State, and US embassies and consulates around the world. He has filed successful motions, waiver applications and various petitions, responded to requests for evidence, and successfully challenged ineligibility findings for his clients.

Anthony has counseled and guided students from around the world through the admissions process to begin studies in the United States, and was the Campus Relations Coordinator at ISO Insurance, one of the largest providers of health insurance to international students in America. He previously worked at a Manhattan-based litigation firm and interned in a leading mental health law practice in America.

He was also the Managing Director of the Guyana Foundation, where his work was featured extensively locally and internationally - with coverage in The Economist, The Guardian, and the BBC.

In addition to his work in the area of immigration, Anthony also consults on the wide range of policy issues relating to suicide and various mental health legal topics. He has presented on “The State of Mental Health in Guyana” to the Diplomatic Corp in the country, is a contributing writer to The Human Development Project, and was interviewed by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. He has testified as an expert witness on mental health matters in Guyana, in court proceedings in the United States of America, and the United Kingdom.

Anthony graduated with a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor for the Hofstra Law Review and a Health Law & Policy Fellow. He was a Presidential Scholar at St. John’s University, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with highest honors, and a minor in Government and Politics.
